It would seem that I've always thought in stories. Ever since I can remember, I'd go: "I wonder, what's this bunny's name in this children book? Why is the bear here? Would the little mole rather be somewhere else?"
As I grew, the themes obviously changed, but my inclination to tell stories didn't. Just like many writers, though, when I mentioned that I wanted to write a book, I was met with a scathing: "But you're so young, what could you possibly have to say?"
And so I didn't write any goddamn book... and I built a career in a completely different creative industry.
But writing found me - and stayed with me - anyway. First as a Star Trek email SIM. Then fanfics. Then forum role playing. It. Simply. Wouldn't. Let. Go. And the characters that came to me just won't shut the fuck up! They DEMAND their stories be told.
So, with the conclusion of 2020, AKA the Covid year, I decided that if there was one good thing to come out of this clusterfuck, it was me tossing my worries into the wind - and kicking impostor syndome's ass - and writing the goddamn book.
So, if you're the praying type, please pray for me. And for the love of all that's Holy, keep the coffee coming. Thanks!
